the Algarve is
located in the South of Portugal, from LHR that's only three
hours by air. It is a coastal strip one hundred miles in length
and thirty miles wide. Featuring bizarre cliffs, fantastic bays,
and turquoise water. If you take a closer look you can
distinguish three different types of coasts:
The Sotavento,
between the district capital of Faro and the boarder line to
Spain with wide sand-dune beaches.
The Barlavento
with long, fine sandy beaches, small coves and hidden grottos.
Here you can find the important seaside resorts with a lot of
sports facilities and nightlife entertainment.
If you
seek secluded beaches, you can find them at the hardly
accessible "Costa Vicentina" in the north of Sagres.
With over 3000
hours of sunshine it's vacation time throughout the year.
